Senior Mining Engineer - Underground

The Senior Mining Engineer-Underground will provide project study, business optimization and mine planning excellence to the Continental Africa Region (CAR) through the Mining Studies team and will play a key part in consistent delivery of information that will impact on achieving the company’s objectives. 

Along with a degree in Mining Engineering and possibly business management studies we require at least five years underground operational experience with medium to large scale mechanized mines with six to ten years spent in mine engineering and planning. Previous experience in operational strategic and study work would be a definite asset.

You are able to provide essential mining expertise and advice on operational execution across a wide range of activities to the various mine sites to assist in meeting the required levels of planning, design and scheduling diligence.

Experience in systems and processes around study initiatives is essential, combined with the overall skills to maintain productive cross-functional relationships with corporate, regional and operational staff  to ensure quality service delivery to the mine sites.

Along with managing diverse priorities and dealing with tight time lines you will have experience in the implementation of cost control initiatives and knowledge of overall mine, health, risk management and safety procedures.
